Birdsbesafe cat collars

Saving wild birds from outdoor cats

About Us

Birdsbesafe LLC has a mission of helping to protect birds from the hunting of outdoor cats. We've been helping save birds since 2009.

Nancy Brennan designed the Birdsbesafe® Cat Collar in 2008 for her cat, George, an avid and destructive bird-hunter.

When stalking, George and his Birdsbesafe Cat Collar were seen easily and immediately, and birds flew away instantly. George, instead of bringing home many dead songbirds, brought home none. He even started to lose interest in his hunting routines. Great!

The Birdsbesafe cat collar was so successful at ending George's bird kills that Nancy began to make it available to other cat owners to help save more birds.

After selling our product to customers worldwide, we’ve learned that the Birdsbesafe Cat Collar really works for them, too. See the Feedback page for comments.

We proudly sew the Birdsbesafe ruffs in Vermont, and pledge to keep producing them in the U.S. as we grow our business.

Thank you, customers, for helping protect wild birds from cat predation. Birdsbesafe® now is a trademarked name, with the USPTO (May 2011).

Beginning in January 2012, a scientific study of the effectiveness of Birdsbesafe cat collars is being done in Australia. Stay tuned for important news of results.

Please either keep your cats indoors or have your cats wear the Birdsbesafe® Cat Collar to warn birds of your hunting cat’s presence.
