Only the original Birdsbesafe collar has not only the quality, but also the proper dimensions for our kitty, Simon. He is brilliantly bright and can easily eat & drink without getting the collar gross. Our old boy's hunting days are over! (We have a 100% fenced in yard & he has access to our yard as he needs - he was an outdoor cat when we took him in.)

I’m in the process of ordering my third set of bird be safe collars. They break away safely so that my cat doesn’t get hurt and they keep the birds safe as well. As soon as my cat loses its collar, I end up having to rescue birds from him, or cleaning up bird parts in my house!

Thank you for creating your amazing product. Our cats were outdoor when rescued & could not adjust to indoor only. They enjoy roaming our 2 acres during the day, & no longer even try to catch birds hopping past them. You have contributed to our logging 100 species of birds from our property over the last 2 years! The cats have one request - both choose to go out even when it is rainy or snowy, and would like a collar that will not absorb moisture. Would you consider making this? My boy doesn’t mind the collar at all. He’s allowed outside for a few hours everyday, and I have no issue putting it on him daily. I especially like the stretch collar to go with it. I have not seen him grab any birds since we started using this several years ago. I highly recommend it.

K will pounce when she hears an outside door opening, and rush out. We know our beautiful Irish Birds ( Tits, Goldfinches, Robins, Wrens, Starlings etal) are Safe.

Birdbesafe collars do cut way down on bird deaths. Our 2 cats are allowed out in daylight only and both were rescued semi-ferals. They have worn Birdbesafe collars for years. You have to check the collars regularly so that they don''t get lost. Recently someone put a lost one in our mailbox.

Pepper is a recent addition to the family home. We think cats should be able to enjoy the outdoors but they need help being good neighbors sometimes. After 3 bird kills within a few weeks of each other, we knew we needed some support. We found Birds Be Safe in an internet search. Pepper now sports the colorful puzzle edition. It is comfortable for her and after almost 2 months of wearing it, no more birds have met their untimely demise. Easy to wash, easy to see with the reflective trim. Pepper is happy. We are happy. Birds are happy. Win-win-win. :)

I can’t definitively swear that it works. But I haven’t seen any new evidence of bird kills. After she killed three Lesser Goldens in one day, I had to do something or I was going to do something drastic.
I take the collar off at night and, after removing accumulated hair every morning from the fabric, put it back on her before she can go outside. After crooning, and praising her for wearing it for a couple days, she now submits to my putting it on her. After making sure the length of the break away collar is flat, not twisted inside the fabric, I approach from behind and below her eyes. The break away collar is hard to snap together, but it seems to work the way it was designed .

When I purchased this collar, my male cat was bringing a minimum of a bird a day into the house (mostly finches). He has worn the collar for 3 weeks now and has brought a hummingbird in the house (which I was able to rescue and put back outside.).

I have found zero dead hummingbirds since our cat started wearing this collar. He tolerates the collar well and I highly recommend it!

My nine-year old cat is an avid hunter. She was bringing in a kill, or live bird almost every day. I originally purchased the giant bell for her collar from this company and it worked for four days. This collar has worked now for three weeks. No birds, lizards, or rats (dead or alive) in my house for THREE WEEKS!!! Whereas I used to tentatively walk into my kitchen every morning, steeling myself for some level of carnage requiring a cleanup crew, I can now start my mornings on a joyful note. I highly recommend this product. If you have a bell on your cat's collar that you want to keep, I recommend putting a small stitch on each end of the openings to keep the bell from sliding into the fabric tube. The tube is rather wide and presents some issues, but they're not insurmountable - and applying a couple of small stitches helps a lot.
