Summer is so precious where we live and work, in Vermont. Every day, songbirds sing outside our offices: the wood thrush and veery are some our common musical performers. Yes, it is the woodlands, and we are lucky. We are surrounded by birds. And for the 4th of July, on a nearby lake, we saw a Bald Eagle, an Osprey, and a Kingfisher. I missed seeing the Common Loon, but it was seen, too.
NOTES: Birdsbesafe company activities proceed at their fast summer pace. Here are some notes that may interest you.
SHIPPING: We ship to our online customers from this website and Amazon, every week day. We usually ship your order in one business day! In the rare instance that we make a mistake in packaging your goods, please let us know and we will promptly make corrections. No robots, here, but we are very reliable and easy to work with.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Did you know that if you order from us on Amazon, you can use their website to contact us, but you can also contact us through our Birdsbesafe website? You receive the same caring customer service responses, either way.
FAQ: Check our FAQ page for some of the basic information on the product, if you have specific questions. If you don't see what you are looking for, certainly email us and we will help. In busiest times, we may reply to non-urgent questions in a few days. Thank you for your patience.
COLLARS: We are currently selling our stretch breakaway collars because they tend to perform the best for our customers' needs. Always use a breakaway style collar that releases under pressure for your cats safety. If you use an inferior breakaway buckle design, it may pop off too readily. Your local independent pet store staff may have some ideas for you on brands that work best, both staying on and releasing appropriately. Our house-brand uses the KittyClip buckle by Duraflex, designed especially for cats. We also tend to like Lupine brand and RC Pets' buckles.
UK and EU: We are hearing from many customers about how much they would like to shop locally for our bird-saving products in the UK and EU. We hear you, and we agree. If you have a chance to express your desires to see our products available at RSPB or other bird conservation organizations, please feel free. We are very interested in our important conservation product having a good future with prestigious conservation organizations. We continue to work on this mission, and are making progress. You can order from our website, meanwhile, and thank you for your patience.
U.S. and Canada: Similarly, we are in touch with bird or wildlife conservation groups in the U.S., and some relationships are advancing. We will hope to have more news soon.
OUR MISSION: We developed our product to stop one cat from catching too many birds. When it stopped this avid hunter almost completely, it was clear that our theory of using bright colored neckwear on a cat had merit. We had based our theory on the eye anatomy of songbirds; detecting the cat sooner and more easily gives birds time to fly away.
It has been more than eight years since we began marketing Birdsbesafe covers, and our ultimate goal was to perfect the product, test it with our customers' help, and share its bird-protecting value with as many cats as possible, worldwide. Along the way, we have earned outstanding publicity, a great reputation for efficacy, a loyal, growing number of customers, and scientific validation on two continents.
We hold patents and perhaps more importantly, we exclusively know which colors and patterns work best, guided by a field-tested, customer-cat-tested, level of detail that no one else in the world has. We look forward to the day when Birdsbesafe's important conservation tool is widely marketed in North America, the UK, and EU, and beyond. If you think that you can help, meaningfully, do get in touch.
THANK YOU: As we always say, thank you for caring about cats and birds. We are saving birds thanks to cat owners like you!
